I set out from Denver, headed to Manitou Springs, just as the sun dipped behind the mountains. It was going to be a cooold 2 hour Trip! But I was excited about being in Manitou and riding ribbon like, winding roads through the darkness as the moon rose over the land. After about an hour of riding, I was freezing. So I stopped at a Cafe for a warm up drink and a little appetizer. The cold was emanating off of me, my new friend told me. (see photo :-)) We roused up conversations with others sitting next to us and before you knew we were all one big happy family, laughing talking and enjoying the Blue grass band. Are the people of Monument usually this friendly? Wow. I would have stayed a few more hours……if I wasn’t so excited about getting to Manitou.
Then, after an amazing time in Mantiou ( hiking the Ute trail!) the sunset drive back the next day was a colorful closing to the mini magical adventure.
It is good to get out and do what you love, see the things you love and spend time with people you love.
