I returned to Colorado after a 10 trip visiting relatives in Eastern U.S. I got a lot of pictures, more of which I’d like to share. This one is one of my favorites. I haven’t exactly figured out what it is that captures me about this flower but its beauty grabs my attention every time I see it!

Csikszentmihalyi makes the following suggestions to promote creativity:

* Pursue ideas that spark your interest.
* Try to find something everyday that surprises you, and write it down.
* Set goals at the beginning of the day to look forward to.
* When you get good at something, increase the complexity of it.
* Try to control your own schedule as much as possible and make time to reflect and relax.
* Find ways to express your emotions.
* Learn to look any given situation from as many perspectives as possible, and determine all the implications of the situation.
* Figure out what you love and hate about your life and living situation, and shape both to maximize what you love.

Dear Sir ~
Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and to try to love the questions themselves like locked rooms and like books that are written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given to you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer. Perhaps you do carry within yourself the possibility of shaping and forming as a particularly happy and pure way of living; train yourself to it-but take whatever comes with great trust, and if only it comes out of your own will, out of some need of your inmost being, take it upon yourself and hate nothing.

My new summer job. Wilderness therapy!
“Lavoy teaches like nobody I’ve ever seen. It’s not just a matter of knowledge, though he’s way down the highway on that. Its more this uncanny knack he has of talking with you for five minutes and from that brief exchange seeming to know exactly the questions to ask to allow you to find solutions on your own, in your own style of learning.”
