June 16th, 2011 · La Vida

I rode out to Gunnison (Sapinero) to meet up with Eli.  It was so exciting to finally see him after two weeks!  He looked different, all rugged and rough.

Motorcycle Adventure

June 1st, 2011 · La Vida

So…..Eli left last Friday (May 27th) for a big Moto Trip!  Denver to San Francisco via southern Utah and the Grand Canyon.   Needless to say, I am very envious.  I would SO love to be riding with him! But, {I’m not going to complain about work here} it’s giving me some time to myself to delve into my creative projects.  And, I’m living vicariously through him as I talk to him and look at his amazing photos. I’m keeping an update on our other Blog RidersWriting;  Check it out!

Its a New Day!

May 24th, 2011 · La Vida

It has been raining so ALOT  in Denver!  It’s reminding me what it’s like to live in Portland.  The sun rose this morning through a raincloud, casting off a beautiful morning light and emphasizing how GREEN everything is!  Here is  the scene from our upstairs balcony.

May = Month To Make Things

May 9th, 2011 · La Vida

Here are some of the projects we’ve been working on…..Pizza!  Delicious   With homemade crust (with our new bread maker Eli’s parents…thank you!) kale, kalamata olives ,garlic, red onion, mini portobello mushrooms and sauce, spiced up with our very own, homegrown basil and rosemary! (Heidi, this is what I’m talking about! and served on the special plates it is quite an occasion :-))

A leather journal.  This is a project I love to do.  The paper is hand torn with my bone cutter. A nice fellow in Morrison, lets me have scrap pieces of leather from his upholstery shop.  I sew in all the pages and Eli figures it out where to make the holes, For the thread which makes up the pattern on the spine. Here is Eli’s Adirondack Chair!  He finished it just in time, for us to enjoy for the summer! Solid.

Here is Eli making his famous breakfast pizza!  Scrambled eggs, spinach, mushrooms, salsa and cheese! Yummy!

And a planter for our Herbs (mostly basil) that seem to be LOVING their sunny spot in the loft!

Denver Botanic Gardens

May 2nd, 2011 · La Vida

Last Friday was “free day” at the Botanic Gardens.  Although we didn’t know it, we were pleasantly surprised to find this out.  The Gardens are beautiful!  You really get the sense, walking around that you are witness to some amazing artisans work.  The craft, love, care and expertise behind these beautiful gardens must be incredible! It was a beautiful sunny day and Eli and I had a blast walking around and  taking pictures, seeing how everything was built (Eli) and just generally absorbing the happy scene.  Yeah for Denver’s Botanic Gardens!!
